Eligibility and course duration
Should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Math with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. For all the good colleges the admission is through entrance exams like JEE Mains.
Duration of this undergraduate degree course is four years, split into eight semesters.

B.Tech in Petroleum Technology helps you understand the various aspects related to the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas also known as hydrocarbons. For becoming a successful petroleum engineer one needs to be knowledgeable about various other related disciplines. So during the course you will be taught subjects like geophysics, petroleum geology, drilling, economics, reservoir simulation and engineering, well engineering, oil and gas facilities engineering and a few other subjects. As a petroleum engineer you come to know about concepts from both the chemical as well as mining engineering. You also come to learn of computer modelling, probability analysis, statistical applications and new techniques like horizontal drilling and enhanced oil recovery.
