Eligibility Criteria
- The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing Diploma Pharmacy course is a pass degree in 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination in Science stream with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics from a recognized college or university. ,
- In some institutes, only the students with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their subjects in 10+2 are considered.
- Minimum aggregate marks may vary from one institute to another institute. It could be anywhere between 45 – 60% marks in main subjects.
- Candidates should be at least 17 years of age while securing admission to this diploma program.
Course Duration
The duration of Diploma Pharmacy course is of 2 years. The course consists of two years theoretical as well as practical sessions. They should pass in each semester for getting Diplona certificate at the end of two years. On successful completion of the course, candidates will get Diploma certificate from the respective institute / university.

It is a Diploma certificate course in Pharmacy. Other name for this course is D Pharm or D Pharma. To practice or work as a pharmacist, the candidates should have pursued Diploma Pharmacy course which is a minimum qualification criteria.
Depending upon the institute, it could be either merit based or direct based admission process. Usually reputed and well established institutes conduct merit based admission process. Under this process, marks scored by the candidates in 10+2 board exam as well as marks secured in entrance exam are taken into consideration. After that a final merit list is prepared and the seats are allotted only to the deserving candidates.
Further studies
After successful completion of Diploma Pharmacy course, candidates may secure admission directly in the second year of Bachelor of Pharmacy course. They can also go for further advances courses in the related field such as Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy), M.Pharm and PG Diploma Pharmacy course. After completing, Masters, Pharm D or PG Diploma, they can opt for Ph.D program. It should be noted that to specialize in disciplines within the field of Pharmacy, Master's and PG Diploma courses are required.
