M.D. in pathology is a 2 year course, which can be availed if you have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or even Mathematics. You do not need to do the general MBBS course to attain this course. You must have inclination towards human anatomy, immunopathology etc. to join this course. If you want to diagnose the disease of patients of various types more effectively and quickly, M.D. in pathology is an apt course for you. Once you pass out from this course you can avail jobs of salary a trainee. Normally, as a pass out you will get a job in the pathological departments of government hospitals. The basic eligibility criterion for M.D. in pathology is to have graduation degree, preferably in science. You must have a B.Sc. honors degree in either Biology or Chemistry or Nursing. Among these people who are graduates in biology or nursing can farewell in this course. But even if you are B.Sc. in Mathematics, you are allowed to do M.D. in pathology.

- Human anatomy
- Different types of human diseases and their classifications and symptoms
- Histopathology, Haematology, Immunopathology,etc.
Once you pass out the course, you will be taken as a trainee in the same hospital from where you passed. Later on you can open your pathological department and earn a better salary. But you need at least 5-10 years of pathological experience for that. Other than this you can teach pathology. If you are not into teaching, then you can join the forensics laboratory or the mortuary department of the nursing homes. Other than that you can join private pathological labs as a consultant. Later on you will be promoted as the chief adviser or examiner in the same lab. This is only if you prove to be good enough.
