Overview of M.Phil in Commerce
M.Phil is a two year post graduation course. The program consists of one year course work and one year of dissertation. The dissertation project can be extended up-to four years for the date of admission. The areas of study leading to M.Phil include accounting, finance, international business, marketing and organization, behaviour and development. The course prepares the candidates for achieving methodological competencies in the selected field. The curriculum includes classroom teaching, seminars, presentations, research colloquia, case studies, tool training etc. The students would be equipped with knowledge skills for planning, designing, engaging and interpreting data for problem solving questions.
Eligibility Criteria for the course
Candidates who have scored 55% marks in aggregate in M.Com/N.B.A/MIB from recognized universities or equivalent grade in commerce from recognized universities are eligible for the course.
Selection will be through written test which consists of objective type questions on analytical skills, subject knowledge and personal interview.

Financial Management- financing, theories of capital structure, eps analysis, human resource management- recruitment, training development, reward, welfare measures, performance, employment maintenance, marketing, research objectives, retail global marketing, financial markets, equities, debit, co-operative management- nature, function, debts etc.
Computer application skills, computer systems, parts, functions, functions keys, integration ICT word processors, spread sheets, e-books, power point presentation slides etc.
Communication technology, audio and video applications , pedagogy- teaching and instruction, lecture techniques, seminars, workshop, symposium, panel discussions, teaching skills, skill stimulation variation, explaining, probing question, black board writing, closure and evaluation.
Apart from the following papers the students have to undertake project work in the selected areas and submit the presentations.
