Eligibility Criteria

1. You must be a graduate from a government affiliated university, to be able to apply in LLM.
2. You need minimum 50% marks in the aggregate score of your graduation.

Higher Studies

• You can study M.Phil. in Corporate Law after LLM. This course is equivalent to a PhD. degree. To be eligible for this course you must pass the entrance examination stipulated by the university. After you pass M.Phil. course you can join as a research scholar in any government institution.
• You can also pursue a PhD. after passing LLM. In that case you must clear either UGC/CSIR NET, or SET examination. You need to be a rank-holder in these examinations. Only then will you be exempted from the written test conducted by the university. After this, a few rounds of interview will be conducted by the university to select the final list of candidates who are eligible to study PhD. in their university. This course is 6-7 years long.

Job prospects

• You can become an intern in a private or government law firm. You have to practice with the firm for a few years, until you are promoted as a senior intern. After a few years, you will become the official advocate of that firm.
• Since your specialization area is corporate law, you can become legal advisor or solicitor for a corporate hub. You will be dealing with legal transactions between your company and other corporate giants. You must look after that whatever business deals your company finalises should encompass all legal procedures.
