Description of the course
The course equips the students in the areas of food, nutrition, health and management. The programme is two year course and prepares the students to venture into careers of their interest. The students will be trained in acquiring the knowledge and skills in cooking, food science, menu planning and preparation, special diets, innovations in new healthy foods, catering and cafeteria. The course lays emphasis on understanding nutritional science, its role and benefits, creating awareness on nutrition, people's nutrition needs, interpretation of nutrition, teaching others and implementation of nutrition program.
Eligibility: The candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board, the core subjects being physics, chemistry and biology. The admissions are through entrance exams. The student must have interest in the field of food and must possess good communication skills.
