Description of the Course
The course trains the students in journalism and hones the skills in English language. The students would be exposed to skills in continuous writing, reporting work and would be trained to become professionals to embark on their journey of career. The program equips them in latest and current developments in electronic journalism, increases the knowledge skill in their academic subjects. The students have to undergo intensive practical training to become strong in their communicative skills. The course provides a wide range of communication skills and develops strategies to effectively implement in different areas of the country. The programme enables the students to learn directly from newsrooms of media brands. The candidates learn the techniques of writing, reporting, editing and distribution. The students have to undertake field trips and study tours.

The syllabus covers writing, which includes the style and grammar, subjective and objective writing. Editing involves understanding the language nuances of editing, copy editing and rewriting. Reporting includes the definitions of news, objective reporting, and investigative reporting. The students would be trained in computer skills in MS office and design applications, media and society. The program also exposes the students in newsroom training and in various types of editing. The aspiring young journalists would get equipped in identifying and recording different topics on environment, science, health, politics, education, city news, lifestyle, business , entertainment etc. The course poses a challenge for young would be journalists to understand the art of writing and reporting and build a career in journalism.
