Course Objective
Rehabilitation Science is a branch of science which focuses on human disability, function and even rehabilitation due to reasons lying in psychology, health sciences, social sciences or any other related field.
This course has an object to give basic details about health sciences and related physical therapies. Candidates learn about diagnostics, clinical reasoning, community rehabilitation, evidence-based practice, etc. Candidates learn various approaches of rehabilitation like anatomical, physiological, socio-cultural and psychological.
The course includes study about anatomy of human body, human development, diseases and medications to treat them.
Eligibility
As it is a Bachelor's degree course, 12th passed candidates with science specialization are eligible for this course. There must be some minimum qualifying marks criteria for institutes and candidates are advised to check the same before filling application form.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure includes submission of application form and then entrance test for short listed candidates. The final selection will be based on overall performance of the candidate.
Duration
Being a graduation level course, it is having 3 years duration. the course is not available in distance learning mode and candidates have to pursue it on regular basis. These 3 years are divided into 6 semesters with each semester having 6 months duration.
Further study options
After successful completion of Bachelor degree, masters degree is always advisable. Candidates can go for Masters in Rehabilitation Science. Other master's degrees like MBA can also support them to learn about management.
Some short term courses in related field can be chosen to have broad job perspective in future.
Course highlights
The course includes study of Human body systems in terms of its normal function and structure.
Candidates learn about concepts of human movement, various theories related to strategies for rehabilitation, etc. They also learn about impact of cognitive, physical and psycho-social deficits in learning. Study of human psychological growth from conception to death is an important part of this course. Some part of physics like momentum, Mechanical principles of force, inertia, etc are also included in the course.

The course is ideal to get in the field of health sciences. MBBS degree holders also pursue this course to advance their profile. Candidates can work in fields like aged care homes, nursing, health assistance, remedial massage and many more. They can also work for health promotion, health project management, case management and care coordination.
