Overview

Dentistry is an ancient branch of medicine, perhaps more than 9000 years old, as evidenced by the remains of a drilled tooth from Indus Valley civilization. Dentistry is all about studying, treating and correcting disorders of the oral cavity and the adjacent areas. Among healthcare courses, dentistry is next in popularity to medical courses. Duration

Duration of courses mostly depend upon course. Bachelors courses vary from 4-5 years. Length of postgraduate courses may vary from 2-3 years and beyond in some cases.

Eligibility

One should have passed 12th with biology as the main subject, to be eligible for the bachelors courses. For admission, one may have to appear for entrance exams.
