Introduction
M.Pharm is Post graduation level course with full name as Master of Pharmacy. M.Pharm in pharmaceutics deals with teaching about chemical processes involved in turning facets into new chemical entity or NCE. These NCE are developed for medicinal reasons or purposes hence they must be medically able for safe and effective use by patients. In short, pharmaceutics is a branch of science which designs the dosage form.
This course is considered as a professional course which is associated with lots of job opportunities afterwards.
Eligibility
A candidate holding B.Pharm. Degree or Bachelor of pharmacy from a reputed institute with 50% marks or higher is eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks may vary from one institute to another and need to be checked before application form submission.
Some institutes also have age restriction and that also need to be checked to avoid rejection of application.
Admission Procedure
Most of the reputed institutes conduct entrance test to short list the deserving candidates for the course. These entrance tests are known as Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude test or GPAT. Interested candidates need to submit the application form before last date along with their documents and application fee and then they need to appear for the test. Short listed candidates from test are then called for interview sessions.

The duration is 2 years or 4 semesters for this course.
Further Study options
After its completion, these candidates can go for M.Phil and then PhD. This field is good for conducting research hence candidates can easily get excellent job options after PhD completion.

The course starts with study about modern and advanced analytical techniques, drug regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical statistics, intellectual property rights, computer applications, Pharm biotechnology and product development processes.
The theoretical part of the course includes study about recent advances in drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical production management, biopharamaceutics and pharmacokinetics.
The practical sessions of the course includes product developments, handling of modern analytical techniques, their implementation, maintenance, etc.
The last semester includes short term project known as Dissertation and candidates need to submit the report for that.
