Introduction to Civil Engineering


Civil engineering deals with the designing and constructing the buildings, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, canals, dams and other structures. Eligibility Pass in X and XII class with science and mathematics and English as one of the subject in class X. The skills needed for this course is logical thinking, problem solving skills, ability to grasp the concepts, good communication to deal with the people and work force.
Documents required for admission: Original certificates, JET admit card, Mark sheets of matriculation, character certification from the last attended institution, domicile certificates, migration certificate, colored passport size photographs.

The students would be exposed to designing, planning, drafting surveying and estimation of costs. The syllabus consists of applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, communication, engineering drawing, building material, computer applications, electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, hydraulics, concrete technology, thermal engineering, surveying, design of steel, reinforced structures, environmental engineering lab, estimation and costing, irrigation engineering cad lab, road, railway, tunnel and harbour, town planning, elements of architecture, civil lab, project work, English communication survey practice, entrepreurship and field visits. The course prepares the students for the changes in the techniques and technologies and provides a basis for employment.
