Introduction to M.A in History
M.A in History explores on early modern, modern periods, medieval and ancient periods. The course exposes the students to varied possible choices relating to historical periods, cultures, and location. The program equips the students with the skills in research, dissertation and lays a ground foundation in history, political science, literature sociology anthropology and geography. The course covers the records left by the individuals and the societies of the past. It focuses on comprehensive study of history of time periods of particular cultures, history events that occurred across the world. The degree equips the students to think analytically, develop reasoning and problem solving skills and clearly assess the history events and predict rationally the developments of future. The course trains the students to clearly communicate the findings after assessing the research works. The program aims at providing in-depth knowledge about understanding the evolution of human civilization from prehistoric times to recent times.
The curriculum of M.A in History
The two year course consists of four semesters. The course covers ancient and medieval societies modern world, art and history historiography, Indian economy history, political structures in India, cultural history, gender, annals, Marxism, intellectual history, history of emotions Religious thought and belief in India, ecology and environment history, western political and social thoughts, evolution of social structures in India through ages.
Eligibility for Admission for M.A History
• A bachelor's degree with 50%marks in aggregate are eligible for the course with history as the main subject.
• The students who possess the ability to construct augment by providing relevant evidence are suitable for this course.
• The students need to posses the qualities of discussing ideas in groups and have capacity to think and find new situations for the problems
