Civil Engineering in India
B.E. in Civil Engineering is a professional course that can be completed in 4 years time by H.S.C. pass outs and in 3 years time by Diploma pass outs. It is related to planning, design, construction, implementation, maintenance, etc. of physical structures like buildings, offices, roads, bridges, subways, sky walks, etc. It is one of the oldest engineering field (second only to military engineering).
The B.E. (Civil) course involves semester exam pattern with around 8 semester exams during the entire duration of the course. Some of the main subjects covered during civil engineering course are building materials and construction, engineering geology, modern surveying techniques, design of concrete structures, transportation engineering, infrastructure planning and management, design of steel structures, foundation engineering, etc. It allows a Civil engineering student to get a good feel of the existing infrastructure and construction industry of India.

Fees for Civil engineering course
The fees of B.E. (Civil) course range from about Rs.35,000 per year to Rs.90,000 per year. Government colleges have less fees and private colleges take more fees for the civil engineering course.

(Civil) degree will enable an engineering graduate to be a part of the construction industry.
