Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) Course Admissions 2024 - 2025 Academic Year

Course Description - If you open Facebook and stay logged in even for a few minutes what you instantly understand is that there are corporations and other business entities dying to market their own product before the Facebook audience. People want to sell more and more and understand the demographics better. With online giants like Facebook and Google largely surviving through advertisement, one doesn't need to fathom why understanding businesses is so important. Now it is not as though administration of a business is all about advertisement. Business administration is about management, ensuring that every aspect of the corporation is working without hassles, together and with displaying great efficiency. No, it is so much more. The Bachelor in Business Administration opens avenues for students after they have completed their 12th grade / HSC exams to explore so much of the business world and educate themselves regarding business environments and management principles. With awareness about business theory, business laws and ethics, and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, this is the course that gives an aspiring entrepreneur the foundations of how to run a business successfully. Together with imbibing entrepreneurial skills and getting trained in business communication when they're fresh out of their schools, students also develop significant and the much required leadership skills, which later helps them to show their worth, while working within an organization. This is one of the most demanded course that school graduates are looking for right now.

Duration - The Bachelor in Business Administration course or which is also sometimes known as the Bachelor in Business Management course, i.e. BBM, is typically a three year long course. This course is also available in part time at some institutions. And to make pace with the modern world, some institutions such as the Amity University are also offering a 3 year online BBA program. Such courses not only provide the opportunity to learn without the need to relocate to an altogether different university but also the facility to study online at one's own convenience.

Eligibility - To be eligible to get enrolled in a BBA course in a good institution, it is required that the candidate who has passed the HSC exam or what is commonly known as their plus-twos from any stream (Science, Arts, etc.) with a minimum of 45% marks in their 12th board exams. Some universities have this threshold set at a little higher level, such as 55% or 60%, depending on institutional standards. At other places, only those who clear the entrance test organized by the respective institutions get to clear the test. Talking about entrance tests to BBA courses, these tests usually are MCQ type and evaluate the aptitude of candidates on English (language skills), and reasoning. However, those who have scored over 500 in the UGAT or more than 70% marks in their +2 exams don't need to appear for entrance tests.

Cost of Study - BBA happens to be an affordable course. When compared to other courses like B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) which is taught in the premiere NLUs, BBA comes at a much affordable price. The price of this course at UEI Global, Jaipur is barely close to Rs. 3 lakhs. This course can be studied at Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University at a cost of only Rs. 87,000. However, the cost of study of this course at some private institutions can be very high. For instance, at Great Lakes College, Gurgaon, to get enrolled into BBA one needs to shell out Rs. 15 lakhs for three years. Again, at Jindal Global Business School, the cost of this course is a little over ten lakhs, that is, Rs. 12 lakhs. Thus, depending upon university standards and private / government criterion, the price of this course can vary greatly.

Admission Procedure - Students who are willing to get enrolled into a BBA course need to keep an eye for the notification. When the same is live, application forms can be obtained. These days most universities, both public as well as private have online applications available. After filling the same, one can sit in the entrance test through which the concerned university intakes the students. Usually the length of these entrance tests are two hours. Some of the most famous BBA entrance tests are the All India Management Association Undergraduate Aptitude Test (AIMA UGAT), Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET), Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (CET). Based on the score and aptitude of a given candidate, admission can be given or denied.

Career Prospects - The career prospects of a BBA graduate are just fine. What we mean to say is that although they aren't bad, they aren't usually very glorious either. Although BBA seems to be at the heart of many employment openings today, be it multi national companies or startups, BBA graduates usually do not get jobs that end up paying them in lakhs per month unlike their master counterparts (MBA holders). Since BBA graduates are only having basic knowledge about business and management, they aren't given the opportunity to do work which may involve critical decision making. BBA graduates usually get entry level positions at corporations and usually end up doing support work for their seniors. It is only some very rare talented ones who end up being part of the face of the corporation. If a BBA graduate is not inclined to continue studying and move on to get a master in business administration (MBA), the best option for them is to try getting a job in sales team of a corporation or as management trainees. Besides trying to secure a job or sitting in MBA entrance tests, BBA graduates also have the option of sitting in competitive exams like the UPSC Civil Services exams which require a minimum of bachelor's degree.

Higher Studies Opportunities - It goes without saying that today, Master of Business Administration is one of the most sought after and demanded course or better say, qualification. Naturally, most BBA graduates try to crack CAT and other important MBA entrance tests and try to make better their career prospects by gaining an MBA degree from the premier IIMs. Another option open for BBA students is to choose law (3 year and not 5 year) and have an edge over other lawyers when it comes to business laws for the simple reason that BBA graduates do have a fairly good understanding of how businesses work. However, since some universities offer an integrated BBA LLB course, the trend of opting for law after completing BBA is not on a significant rise.
