There are better words which our English dictionary has for various meanings. But the fact is that we dont tend to use it and try to use more simple language.
Usage of best words in best places adds value to your speaking.
Here is one example of using words "When" and "While". Both gives the same meaning but when speaking, the word "While" has more impact that the word "when".
"When" is a simple work without any impact and "While" is a word with good impact of language.
Sample Usage
When == I used to meet my friend when I was staying in Bangalore.
While = I used to meet my friend while I was staying in Bangalore.
The second sentence has more weightage and gives value rather than the usage when.
