Difference between canvas and canvass

The word 'canvas' is a type of cloth which is strong and coarse.

The word 'canvass' is used as a verb which generally means to persuade people to a one's opinion.


Sample Usage


eg 1. Painting was almost finished on the canvas.

eg 2. The man had finished canvassing the whole of the village to vote for his party leader.
