Elicit:-(To evoke)

Elicit means to draw out.

To draw forth what is latent.

To draw out the hidden information from some one.

Eg C.B.I will elicit information from him

Illicit:-Illicit means illegal.

To do some thing that is unlawful.

Eg:Illicit distillation of wine should be stopped.


Sample Usage

Sample usage:

Elicit:1.The lie detecter will elicit the facts from him.

2.The police will elicit the facts from the thief.

Illicit:

1.Black marketing,smuggling,drug trafficing etc are considered Illicit.

2.Money should not be earned through Illicit sources.

3.Those who are involved in Illicit activities will be punished.
