When we say that "he is a good boy". Here "good" is the adjective, describing the noun "boy".
Similarly, sometimes we make use of animals terms to describe a noun.
1) Cow--> bovine.---> slow/dull- witted.
2) Sheep--> ovine.---> naive/ not having had a particular experience before.
3) Fox---> vulpine.---> cunning/ sly.
Bovine---> He was too 'bovine' to grasp the facts.
Ovine----> The 'ovine' members of the party did not know how to vote until some senior tells them how to.
Vulpine ---> The politician was young and 'vulpine'.
