Parole

Meaning: the release of a prisoner before the end of his/her sentence on condition of good behavior.

This is a noun and mostly used in the language of law.


Sample Usage

1.The prisoner was granted parole by the jail authorities on the basis of his good behavior and education.

2.The judge granted parole to the prisoner as his mother was lying on her death bed and his presence was necessary there.

3.The parole granted to the prisoner was reviewed after the reason mentioned for the parole was found to be a false one.
