Meaning: To bend one or both knees as a gesture of respect.

The word is derived from Latin words "genu" , meaning "knee", and "flectere", meaning "to bend".
Noun form: Genuflection, Genuflexion.


Sample Usage

1.The devotee genuflected before the idol of God.
2.The king was furious as one of his subjects did not genuflect before him, which was mandatory in his reign.
3.The robber declared,"I will spare your life only if you genuflect and beg for it."
