Rise and shine

To rise and shine means that it is time to get out of bed and get ready to go to work. It is often used by a parent when they wake up their kids to go to school. It can also be used to rouse somebody from a doze.

Sample Usage

1. When the boss saw the office assistant dozing in the corner, he said "Rise and shine! This is not the time or place to have a nap. Get to work".

2. On realizing that it was time for her husband to catch his flight, Meena roused him awake and told him to rise and shine.

3. Savitri invariably had a problem in getting her sons to rise and shine in time for the school bus.
