Feet of clay - When you admire someone and you come to know that he has many hidden faults and many hidden secrets behind, then we say that he has a feet of clay. Let me now tell you how the meaning has been derived. Well, feet is never of clay, it is of human contents, but when you see something which appears to be true but is not true in itself we use words like this, like ‘clay' which we have used here, to show untrue qualities.



Sample Usage

1. The biggest businessmen also have feet of clay sometimes.
2. I do not have any feet of clay, and after all who told you he admires me?
3. The only person who did not have feet of clay according to me is Mahatma Gandhi.
