Extol means to praise high.

Extol is a verb.

Synonyms: exalt, laud, praise, eulogize, applaud, acclaim, commend, champion, celebrate.

Antonyms: belittle, decry, criticize, denounce, censure, condemn.

Note: Extol and laud mean to praise highly. Extol connotes glorification or exaltation; laud connotes respectful or often inordinate praise.


Sample Usage

The general extolled the bravery of the young soldiers.

We are gathered to extol the virtues of our ancestors.

The people in the region extol the marvelous accomplishments of their politicians.
