"A bad workman blames his tools"

A careless or unskilled person blames his tools rather than himself for bad work, while it is his own carelessness or lack of skill which is really to blame.

Sample Usage

There is a saying in our language that an inefficient dancer blames the stage. A small root of a plant may break a rock. Thus we see that we can do anything successfully provided we have a determination for it. So success depends on one's innate qualities, but not external circumstances.

An efficient workman, may use his ability to do his job well even though he possesses defective tools. It is not the tools, but the man does the job.

Only an inefficient fellow will blame his tools or express lame excuses for his inability.

Thomas Alva Edison invented hundreds of items without proper lab and accessories. Robinson Crusoe was able to live in an unknown island without proper tools. Hence only a bad workman will quarrel with his tools, but not the able person.
