What is a descriptive adjective? A descriptive adjective is an adjective which is used to depict or portray (describe) the quality or state of a noun.
Descriptive adjectives are basically of 2 types: (1) Simple and (2) Compound.
A simple adjective is just one descriptive word; whereas compound adjectives are not one descriptive word but two descriptive words used one after the other.
