Idiom: "Make a mountain out of a molehill".

Meaning:

This idiom means overreacting in a particular situation or trying to make a big problem out of a small issue i.e. being pessimistic and assuming negative things even when a particular problematic situation is somewhat under control.







Sample Usage

1. Shikha Oberoi made a mountain out of a molehill by doubting her loyal husband for having an affair with his personal secretary and hiring a detective to keep an eye on him.

2. When the National Selection Committee for Cricket in India started talking about sacking the entire cricket team for losing just one series in 2 years, every one knew they had made a mountain out of a molehill.
