I like /I would like to

'I like' and 'I would like to' are two group of words which have different meaning.

I like: It can be used in various ways.

For example: I like children. Mary likes to go for a walk every morning.
Raj is just like his brother. She is a fan of Aiswarya Rai. Sometimes she dresses like Aishwarya.

I would like to : It means you want to express a wish, an opinion or preference
for something or somebody.

For example: I would like to tell you something interesting.
I would like to have a cup of coffee but not tea.
I would like to bring to your kind notice that the television purchased by me last month has some defects.

Sample Usage

I like swimming.
Rani cooks very well just like her mother.
He likes to flaunt his wealth in public.
I am tired.I would like to take rest for a while.
My friend said she would like to invite me for he birthday party.
