Use of Similes

Like proverbs similes should be used sparingly.

Here are a few use of similes:

As cold as ice: Mary fainted suddenly . Her hands and feet became as cold as ice. Mary's hands and feet are compared to ice.

As proud as a peacock: When Rani got the best student award she felt as proud as a peacock. In this sentence , Rani is compared to a peacock.


Sample Usage

Raj was shivering with cold and his body became as cold as ice.

Sometimes little children feel as proud as a peacock when they get prizes.
