Besides and beside are used in different contexts.
Besides means in addition to. Beside means near.

For example: Rani was sitting beside me in the class

Besides swimming, I am also interesting in cycling.


Sample Usage

There is a big apartment beside my school.
In order to get good marks , you need to study other books besides text books.
Besides Raj, I also have two more close friends.
