Difference between 'Probable' and 'Possible'

Probable
Probable is that which may be expected to happen or prove true.

Possible
Possible is that which can exist or can be done or happen.

Probable is stronger than possible.


Sample Usage

Probable
1. It is probable that he dislikes you,for did you not insult him the other day ?
2. The probable result.
3. He foresaw a probable loss.

Possible
1. In human life every thing is possible.
2. I'll do everything possible.
3. Politics is the art of the possible.
