Difference between 'Social' and 'Sociable'

Social means 'pertaining to society'.

Sociable means 'fit for company' or 'fond of company'.

Sample Usage

1. Some social reforms are urgently needed in India.
2. Social problems.

1. He has a sociable temperament and so he is liked by all.
2. He's a cheerful,sociable man.
