Unexpectedly sudden, rudely, curt or brusque

Sudden interruption or change in an ongoing work or schedule.

Abrupt also represents irritability when questioned to, and the person talks abruptly.


Sample Usage

1. The abrupt appearance of the fast moving bike nearly caused the accident.

2. Joe's abrupt handwriting changed suddenly after he saw the movie which made him realize something.

3. Why go abrupted? My life is a rather smooth one. That is what I prefer.
