Dilettante

Noun--A person who takes up an art, activity and manages it in a superficial way, a lover of an art or science.

Adjective-- Of or pertaining to dilettantes.

Synonym: Amateur, Dabbler

It is generally used to someone who is interested in fine arts as a spectator, not as a serious practitioner. Dilettante is most often used to mean a dabbler, someone with a broad but shallow attachment to any field.


Sample Usage

1)Be serious or else you will end up being a dilettante.

2)A dilettante work is not at all reliable as he/she performs the task by learning things superficially.

3)My friend is a dilettante who can judge fine arts perfectly.
