Condone means to overlook or silently forgive an offensive, usually a serious one.

Condone is a verb.

Synonyms: disregard, let pass, overlook, ignore, put up with.

Antonyms: censure, denounce, disapprove.



Sample Usage

The principal could not condone the student's actions, especially for copying in the exam.

His parents condoned Naveen's drinking by simply ignoring it.
