Messages are written when we cannot communicate with a person directly. They are written:
• to give some important information. • to request someone to do something • to apologies for something. • to give an explanation
A message is an informal piece of communication.
A message must be very short. Only important details are included in a message.
The name of the person the message is intended for should be mentioned.
The name of the writer of the message should be mentioned.
The date and the time when the message is written should be mentioned.
A message need not be written in complete sentences. Articles, finite verbs, conjunctions can be omitted. You need not write- “I shall be reaching Delhi by the Rajdhani Express."
It is enough to say- “Reaching Delhi by Rajdhani Express."
However while omitting a word, one should ensure that clarity and expression are not sacrificed.
