Comparitive Adjectives: words like more, most, perfect, ideal, chief etc are called comparitive adjectives
1)Adjectives should not be used in comparitive degree when comparison is not done.
2)Comparitive adjectives are followed by 'to'.
3)Double comparision should be avoided.
4)With superlative degrees use of other and any should be avoided.
5)'Less' is used for quantity. 'Few' is used for number.
6)'Some' is used in affirmative sentences.'any' is used in negative or interrogative sentences.
Sample Usage
1):
He is a more approachable person in the office. ---> wrong.
He is the most approachable in the office.----->right.
2):
He is junior than me.---> wrong.
He is junior to me.----> right.
3):
This paper is rather more important.---->wrong.
This paper is more important.----------->right.
4):
He is the wisest of all other people in his group.--->wrong.
He is the wisest of all.------------------------------> right.
5):
Less people.-----> wrong.
Few people.------>right.
6):
I want some papers.
I do not want any of the papers.
