A man is negligent in particular things,but one is neglectful as a matter of habit.

Sample Usage

Negligent
1. He is always negligent in the matter of punctuality.
2. Negligent of detail.
3. Negligent in his correspondence.

Neglectful
1. He is so neglectful that he never cares even for his personal interest.
2. Neglectful parents.
3. Neglectful of his duties.
