Staff Selection Commission(SSC)is responsible for making recruitment to Group C (non-technical) and Group B (non-gazetted - technical as well as non-technical)posts in various departments of the Govt of India and its subordinate offices. Post in railways and industrial establishments do not come under Staff Selection Commission. The commission announces and conducts open competitive exams in All India level every year for recruitment to various posts, usually for LDCs and UDCs. The commission even conducts internal departmental exams for promotions from Group D to LDC, from LDC to UDC and for stenos from Group D to Group C.
There are nine regional offices of SSC located at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Allahabad, Bengaluru and Guwahati and sub-regional offices located at Chandigarh and Raipur.
Graduates with Typewriting Lower/Higher and those who are keen in getting a clerical job in govt offices are eligible for applying.
