    I am a 17 year old boy. My height is 5"6'. Can swimming, yoga and Ayurvedic medicine help to increase height? Can boys increase their height till the age of 21? Also, if I go swimming daily will it help to increase height?

    Good that you have started pondering for height solution tips well in time! And do not worry, be stick onto tremendous effort and do not let the fire fade away from your mind! Remember, a male member can grow till he attains 21-22 years of age. So you have ample time to add up few inches to your physical appearance!

    At the first instance, I would like to suggest you is that please do not fall into the pit of ads you see in web who false promises you of getting taller! If it was an yes, then Messi and Aamir Khan would have added more onto their physical height! Won't they?

    Very important basic thing what you need to know is that the height normally depends on the genetic attributes what you inherit from your parents and thus if your parents are teller would you be too and vice versa. But follow these simple steps being listed below with full dedication and you would reach the stars!
    1. Proper sleep is a must since it directly have its impact on relieving the muscles of your body and thus to make them efficient. A sound sleep would be considered for a duration of 8-11 hours.

    2. Try these sports and make them your die hard favorite to fulfill your day. It may comprise of Tennis, Basket Ball, Shuttle Badminton, Football, Volley Ball etc. Remember these sports acts a s a substitute for intense exercise and make your body get stretched.

    3. You can try these stretch exercises to get an instant effect say for a month or few. Cobra stretch, the bridge stretch, car stretch, bow down, Vertical bend, leg kick, vertical hanging, standing vertical stretch and few more twists.

  • Lesser height , or Puniness as it is called,is generally a result of insufficient nutrients and harmone disorder.
    Ayurveda has some home remedies for increasing height.
    1.Mix powdered Aswagandha root and powdered sugar in equal quantities,mix well and store it in a glass pot.Take 2 tablespoons of this mixture with 200 ml of milk before going to sleep.Use for 45 days for effective results.
    2.Mix Ashwagandha as above with equal quantity of Black Sesame powder.Stuff one tablespoon of this mix inside 5 date palm fruits.Eat these palm fruits with cow milk.
    3.Include leafy vegetables and fruits in the diet.
    4.Get enough Vitamin D by sun bath or cod liver oil.
    5.Get plenty of proteins by consuming milk and eggs.
    6. Take proper sleep.
    7. Exercise regularly
    8. Practice yoga. There are some specific asanas which help in increasing height.

    We have seen so many posts about concern for Height and weight. In most of the threads people have asked for height concern and having age between 17-20 years. Now as long as you are worried about your height, you have still 4-5 years to increase your height well enough. The main important thing for increasing your height is exercise and protein-calcium rich food intake. You need to do lot of exercise through sports, swimming, cycling, etc.
    Now let me explain reason for such activities and food. When you do exercise then your full body will be charged and will lose calories. Now when you do exercise you will be doing activity for body where Bones and muscles will be much involved in this case. Now as we lose calories, it always need energy and if we provide protein and calcium rich food for our body then Bones and muscles will build strong enough. This indeed help to be healthy and increasing your height too.
    Along with sports swimming and cycling are the best resources to increase your height. Now in most of the cases our body height will not increase after 21-22 years. Still you can gain enough height in next 3-4 years too.
    If you have hereditary problem for your height then it also can help to consult physician for diet about proteins and calcium. It will be always to have proper guidance in such special cases.

  • Yeah I personally know a few guys who grew taller after the age of 18(you can call them late bloomers, I guess). I think doing the following stuff might work for you as they worked for me, I don't believe that they increase my height much but they certainly did improve my posture which plays a huge part in how tall you appear:

    1.Sleep for at least 8 hours a day, preferably without a pillow.
    2.Stretch your back and legs every now and then.
    3.Take up a physically demanding and 'explosive' sport like basketball or kho-kho, any kind of sport that requires instantaneous energy spurts.
    4.Stay away from smoking and alcohol.

    That being said, your height isn't everything:try improving in other aspects of life and be a well rounded person.

  • Swimming gives exercises to the muscles. There are a lot of stretching involved. So, swimming is advised for increasing of height. Hanging rings can also be used to gain height. You are only 17 years old. So do not worry about your height. You have a normal height now and there is time for progress as well. Joining a swimming class or basketball class will be useful in your case.
