Is ITI course equivalent to 10+2 course for the purpose of continuing further studies?

ITI caters to very specific set of skills. It includes skills such as engineering drawing, turner, fitter, electrical wiring etc. These are some of the skils being taught at the ITI. These skills are more or less job oriented.

ITI jobs are very low paid jobs. You are not going to cross 15K from any manufacturing company with these skills. You are going to be at low paid earning with the ITI skills. So you have to learn for the higher education. Only benefit of the ITI skills is that you can get the low paid field work jobs.

Yo also don't get Diploma admission or any other degree admission with the ITI courses. These courses can't replace the 10+2 level. And for that reason the ITI courses are not considered as a 10+2. So you have to complete the 12 th standard and appear for further education. You can't skip this unfortunately.

ITI courses only offers diploma in various branches and fields but is not at all equivalent for school education of +2 level.
A student should never leave education at just this point becuase it is very risky since when a student opt for ITI his/her age may be just 16 or 17 years and, if in future he/she wants to switch to any other career option they won't be eligible for fulfilling very basic norms of job qualification which in most cases is graduation.

So if a student is really intrested in ITI to enhance their skills they should also side by side complete their education atleast to a graduation level.
Many times a person who has done ITI in case leaves the job then they have left with no option to find any other job in any other area because they are not eligible.
So its better not to stop at this point and keep going with your education a step ahead so that you don't have to regret your decissions.
