  • Of late, GATE score has gained importance and the Public Sector Undertakings have special considerations for such aspiring candidates. However, there are other criterias as well namely the written tests containing the Technical - paper of the stream already selected in their Engineering streams, Aptitude - test and on clearance of the written test, they have to appear for the interviews where their actual worth is evaluated before the panel of experts. The final merit - list is prepared considering the GATE scoring, performance in the interview and the marks obtained in Engineering - examination. In ONGC, 60 percent mark is allocated for the GATE scoring.
A list of some of undertakings preferring the GATE score is given below-
    1) ONGC
    2) HPCL
    3) Coal India Ltd
    4) DRDO
    5) NTPC
    6) Atomic Energy Commission, Mumbai
    7) IOCL
    8) DVC
    9) Coal India etc
Announcement is made for the recruitment of Graduate - engineers as soon as the result of GATE scoring is released. ONGC and Indian Oil Corporations took the initiatives to include GATE scorings for the final selection of the aspirants but now the other organisations have joined hands in inclusion of GATE scorings.
No, the aspirants are not recruited directly for having achieved the GATE scoring, the other conditions such as clearance of the written test and the final interview are mandatory apart from GATE scorings.
