A,B,C and D go to a restaurant for a dinner. A pays 1/5 of the bill, B pays 2/5 of it and the balance is shared equally between C and D. Who pays the maximum amount of in the restaurant? What is the answer for the above specified word problem? Awaiting response.
Given that A pays 1/5 of the bill B pays 2/5 of the bill Total bill pay by both A and B, A + B = (1/5) +(2/5) = ((1+2)/5) = 3/5 Remaining bill amount = (5/5) _ (3/5) = ((5_3)/5) = 2/5 Since C and D pays equally pays = D pays = (2/5) / 2 =2/10 = 1/5 A pay 1/5 B pay 2/5 C pay 1/5 D pay 1/5 Therefore B pat the maximum amount of the bill.
According to the question, A pays 1/5 of the bill. B pays 2/5 of it. Hence the remaining amount to be shared by C +D = 1- (1/5+2/5) =1-3/5 =2/5 Since this amount is to be shared by CAnd D equally and hence C has to pay 1/2 multipled by 2/5 = 1/5 D has to pay 1/2 multipled by 2/5 =1/5 So, in this case, B pays the maximum amount ie 2/5.
Payment done by A is - 1/5th of the total bill and Payment done by B is - 2/5th of the bill Balance of the bill after payment done by A+B is 1-(1/5+2/5) = 2/5, Now remaining 2/5th of the bill is equally shared by C & D. So, share of C is 1/5th of the bill and share of D is 1/5th of the bill.
