  • It depends upon the particular state, where you want to apply for a teacher job. You have not mentioned that from which state you are. Almost in all the states, qualification required for the teaching job is same. Some initial teachers training is required i.e. a pre- service course required before going on actual job. Initial teachers training course is known by different names in different states. Simply on BE /B Tech degree you are not eligible for a teachers job in government school/colleges. If you are intending to become a teacher in your state or school/colleges run by the support of central government, you have to add some basic training course required for the post. Basic teachers eligibility course differs from state to state.

  • Yes you are eligible for teaching job.
Recently Kendirya Vidhalya post vacancies for B.E Computer science, they asked written test only for computer students.
For primary teaching job, you need to clear CTET test conducted by CBSE 2 times per year.

For high school teaching job, you require BEd degree and clear the CTET test and sometimes require some teaching experience for 2-3 years.

  • Being an Engineering - graduate in computer - science does not mean that you are not eligible the profession of a teacher in a high/ middle school. At 10+2 level, there is a provision for selection of Computer - science from some of the aspirants and as such the School - authorities has to take care of the need of the students by recruiting Computer - teachers. Not only CBSE circular maintain this provision, even the students of ISC are being coached Computer - science to make the student competent in this field.
In a Government - high school also, there is recruitment of Computer - teachers to teach Computer - science. Later on, B.Ed can be pursued with a recognised university for better prospects in the teaching - line.
For a primary - school teacher, a short training course ranging from nine to twelve month is required.
However, being a lecturer in a junior college, you should have a post graduate degree followed by clearance of National - eligibility Test conducted by CBSE. This test is held twice a year.

  • If any teaching position requires B.Ed graduate then you may not be eligible for that job position. The reason being the B.Ed specific position requires teaching experience. In case of engineering degree you are eligible to teach for the higher secondary college, engineering college, degree colleges that includes Bsc, Bcom. In case of engineering degree you can use it for teaching for the computer science and relevant subjects that can be taught outside engineering. You are also allowed to teach at the distance education and part time engineering colleges.

  • As you have graduated with Computer Science, you have not studied any 'teaching subject'. So, in most of the states of India, you can't appear for B.Ed. and become a Government teacher. So, to become a teacher, you have to again go for Graduation and then B.Ed. Alternatively, if you are interested in teaching, you can pursue M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science an join as a faculty in Engineering Colleges in your branch of study.

Beware! I question everything and everybody.

  • Basically it depends on the state where you are applying.
It is mandatory for school teachers to have B.Ed course done. This course basically deals with the teaching methodology adopted to deal with school children.
Apart from this there is TET(Teacher eligibility test) which is conducted by the specific state which you have to qualify in order to apply in the state school
In addition to this CTET Central teacher eligibility test is conducted by Centre. By clearing this test you have an added advantage that you can even apply for teaching jobs of Central schools/Kendriya Vidyalaya.
If you have interest in teaching do go for M.Tech by scoring a good rank in GATE.After that clear UGC NET exam and become eligible for Assistant Professor in an Degree College.
