    Seeking guidance regarding MSc in Physics

    I'm currently pursuing my Masters in Physics. Is there any scope in this stream.
    What can I do parallel to MSc ?
    Many tell that MSc in the current market has no value. Is that really true?

  • No. M.Sc. Physics is a very good course. You have many employment opportunities. You don't worry in that direction. Complete the course and look for options.
    1. You can go for PhD. After M.Sc, you can register your name for PhD in the university. CSIR common entrance test you can write and if you are qualified in that test you will get a scholarship. If you are qualified in the above test you can apply for lecturer post in Government colleges. You can also apply for the Junoir lecturer post. There are many engineering colleges and degree colleges in private sector where you can try for your lecturer post.
    2. There are many scientific laboratories in government sector like CCMB, CSIR, DRDO, CMRI, NGRI and others where many vacancies are there for Postgraduates in Physics.
    3. There are many electronic industries in public as well as private sector.They will have many openings for Physics postgraduates.
    4. After M.Sc., even you can go for B.Ed and then teacher psot.

  • Complete your course with good scores. There are plenty of job opportunities available for M.Sc physics. Take up NET/ JRF examination. You can get into reputed institutions as lectures. You can also pursue research course leading to Ph.D and then take up professors job. You get good stipend during your Ph.D course study. You can work as scientist in space research organizations and if you are interested in teaching field then get enrolled for B.Ed and become science teacher. The jobs are also available in electrical and electronic companies in government /private sectors for physics graduates/postgraduates. You can also give tutions for children in physics.

  • M.Sc. in Physics is a much sought-after course. There are many job opportunities available for Post-Graduates in Physics, some of which are mentioned below:-
    (a) Research opportunities in different branches of Physics (within India or in abroad)
    (b) Working as Scientist in Government or in private organisations
    (c) Joining college as lecturer of Physics after qualifying NET.
