  • For getting admission in MCA in IIT one has to appear in joint admission test by IIT known as IIT-JAM.
This test is held every year for MCA and MSc courses in IIT.
The students having completed their graduation in computer science or computer applications and having 55% marks are eligible to apply. However for SC candidates the requirement is only 50% marks.
After qualifying and getting desired merit in this exam one will get admission to MCA course.

  • IIT conducts an entrance - test for screening out candidates interested for MCA course and this entrance - test is known as IIT - JAM. Tests are normally conducted in the month of February but admission - form along with a draft of a requisite amount has to be filled up in the month of November of previous year.
Minimum marks for the appearing for the said test has been set different - for the general candidates it has been fixed to 55 percent and for SC/ST the same may get a relaxation to the tune of 5 percent and so the eligibility criteria for such candidates would be 50 percent only.
Since seats are limited, the aspirants would be required to prepare sincerely in both Mathematics and Computer - fundamentals. A thorough grasp of these two subjects would pave the way of success. In order to understand the pattern of the test, aspirants may have a look of the previous years question papers so as to comprehend the trends followed by IIT for MCA test.
