  • To fix this problem, first open command prompt and run it as administrator. If you give any password for using administration then type password for a confirmation. If not then just type sfc/scannow then hit enter. It takes some time to scan your complete pc. Now restart your pc and try reaccessing the chrome. If problem still persists then upgrade your chrome browser version. After upgrading if problem is not solved then uninstall the chrome then reinstall it. Hope it helps.

  • This type of error message comes when some routine or subroutine of the chrome software is not properly responding due to some bug or some problem encountered at the time of software installation due to which it was not installed properly.

The best option will be to uninstall the chrome and run virus scan for your PC and afterwards reinstall chrome. If the problem still persists you will have to take help from the computer professional in this line.

  • May be due to a faulty download or a failed upgrade. Chrome does not work on older platforms of windows XP/ Vista.
Once you ensure that the internet connection is good, please uninstall the existing chrome.
Then re-install with a new installation file that you download freshly from google.
Please review your antivirus settings to see if google tools are not blocked. Sometimes you may have to reboot the computer. Hopefully, it should work.
Please check your computer for malware or suspicious downloads.
At time few antivirus programmes prevent chrome installation, if this is the case you may have to turn off antivirus program, download and re-install chrome and then turn on your antivirus program.
If still not working, you can try the google chrome help forum (!topic/chrome/8eY9TuO0ogw).

  • This problem generally happens with some incompatible software that conflict with chrome. The most popular one is electric sheep. Uninstall this program if you have and the problem will be fixed. If you still have the problem, the simple fix is:

    1. Right click on the desktop shortcut of Google Chrome.
    2. Select properties and click on find target.
    3. This will open a folder generally the version of the Chrome (Example: 10.X.XXX).
    4. Find the file named as avutil-50.dll and copy it.
    5. Simply click backspace on the keyboard and it will take you to the folder where chrome.exe is located, paste the file here.
    6. Run the chrome now and your problem will be fixed.

Another method is to uninstall the chrome and clear the registry files and leftovers thoroughly with some handy softwares such as IObit Uninstaller. After doing this, reinstall and your problem will be fixed.

Always check for latest updates and keep updating all softwares and apps regularly.
    Good Luck.

  • This problem persists because you have to adjust you anti-virus and chrome manually.

    Here is the procedure.

Go to Programs and Features after opening the Control Panel> Google Chrome> UNINSTALL.

Second, try to clear the cache and data completely. In PC version all you need to do is:-

    1. Press the Windows key + R at the same time and type %appdata% and click OK.
    2. Delete the folder for Google Chrome.

    3. Press the Windows key + R at the same time and type %temp% and click OK.

    4. Delete all that it's inside that window, just left those that won't delete.

    5. Reinstall Google Chrome:

    6. Once installed test it again.

If the problem persists, restore your computer.
