  • Unlike public schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas don't provide any transport facility for students. However, the guardians of students can arrange transport for the children on their own. In that case, the guardians have to inform the Principal of the concerned Kendriya Vidyalaya about such arrangement.

I would advise you to check whether any such private transport facility is available in the Kendriya Vidyalaya where your child studies.

  • No, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan has not introduced the transport facility to the wards of Kendriya Vidyalaya anywhere in India. However, the students in general belong to the various classes of the Central Government fraternity like Defence, Railways, Telecommunications etc., and these departments run buses for the children of their employees at nominal cost under their contingent grants.

  • As far as my knowledge goes there are no buses to go to Kendriya Vidyalaya. The students will have to make their own arrangements for their commuting. Some big Organisation provides transport facility to the children of their employees to different schools. They can go on their buses. In Visakhapatnam BHPV and Coromandel Organisations are having this facility. In some areas, students going from the same area are making a common arrangement for their travel.

  • In KV schools, the transport is arrranged by the parents themselves. KV does not take the responsibility even the hire or maintain the transport services or school buses.

I would suggest, the parents to meet the principal of the school concerned/ a senior member in the adminstartion informally, he or she would be able to guide about the availablity of alternative transport and the contacts for the same.

In large apartments of neighborhoods, a few parents take the initiative of arranging private vans and share the cost depending on the number of students. Please check with the department head of your organisation to see whether a common transport service is arranged for children of the parents employed.

If you hire a private van or a bus, people are concerned about safety issues. You can consider a monitoring app service that helps you and the rest of the parents to track the school bus.(
