A Tahsildar is a government official who holds responsibilities related to revenue of a village or a particular area. Tahsildar will have a power to issue government certificates like nativity certificate, birth certificate, residence certificate, ration card issue etc. This tahsildar position will be appointed by the state government.
In TamilNadu, Tasildhar willbe appointed based on the candidate's score obtained in the TNPCS (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) Group 2 Examination. Minimum eligibility required to apply for TNPCS Group 2 exam is to qualify in Post Graduation degree in any subject or equivalent course from a recognized university. Age should be betwwen 18 years to 30 years.
This TNPCS Group 2 exam consists of 2 papers. Each paper consists of 150 questions. Paper 1 contains questions related to General English, Science, Mathematics and Reasoning. And Paper 2contains questions relatedto History of India, Indian Constitution, Politics and Current Affairs. Duration of exam willbe 2 hours.
