  • The rank in your entrance test is the criteria for allocating a seat. You have to apply for a seat against their advertisement and they will call you for a councilling and you can give your preference. based on your rank. When your turn comes what are the seats which seats are available will be told to you by the councillors there and you have to give your preference as per the available seats at that moment. Once the seats are available and your requirement matches the availability you will be allotted the seat.

  • Your present ranking is the sole criteria for offering you a seat in an Ayurvedic - college. There are numerous Aurvedas colleges in the list meant for councelling and your ranking will be announced in the Mike, you have to be available for counselling in the venue where cancelling session is going on. The counceller would allow you to acess the vacant position available in the different colleges and you will be asked to choose a particular college from the vacant - position. Once you make up your mind for the selection of a seat of a particular college, you have to click the button of the computer to reserve your seat and thus a final - selection is made.
It may so happen that there are limited seats available in a few colleges and for which you don't have preference for choosing and in that case, you can forgo the selection - process of seat so that the next aspirant is allowed to continue the counselling process. In this case, you have to state the reason for your forgoing to the counceller in order to avoid the legal - complication arising if any.

  • Entrance test for BAMS was replaced with effect from the year 2017 by NEET performance and now only your marks or ranking in NEET is considered for this.

You have to appear for counselling in the counselling center on the specified date along with the requisite documents as mentioned in NEET site. Please take all the documents with you to avoid any inconvenience at the counselling center.

At the counselling center depending on ones rank and availability of the seats, one will be allotted a seat in the particular college. This is purely a combination of ones rank and seats available in a college so choice of college can not be demanded.

Only after this selection process through the counselling session one can join the course. Please note that the candidate should reach the designated center on the specified date otherwise he will lose his chance of selection .

  • A.What is the criteria for admission to the college for BAMS?

The BAMS entrance exams have been replaced by the NEET just recently. There is not actual cut off that we can rely on to give an educated guess. Based on the performance scores, a NEET score of around 350 should be good enough to get into BAMS provided other criteria are being met.

    The eligibility criteria are

12th qualified with 50% science stream being mandatory (physicis, chemistry and biology). If you have studied and excelled in Sanskrit it is an added positive point. There will be some margin for reservation and differently abled applicants, so keep your options open with a list of 3-5 colleges based on your research and local knowledge.

    B. Be prepared for the counseling advertisements and dates and the different rounds. Keep a lookout for the second round because, there would be some dropouts, some who change their choice etc and there would be a chance for you to get what you want.

C.Keep all the important documents handy when you are called for counseling.
    NEET admit card
    NEET rank card
    10th marks card
    12th marks card
    Dolimicalry certificate
Age and Identity proof (Birth certificate,Aadhaar Card, Driving License)
    Passport size photographs

    for actual admission
    Character Certificate
    Transfer Certificate

    D. I would suggest don't worry about the NEET marks etc now. Use this time to list the best colleges for BAMS in Punjab based on their ranking, academic standards, government, aided, private status, fee structure and learning enviornment including a good hospital set-up for internship with good patient load.

Guru Nanak Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Institute, Ludhiana.
Guru Nanak Ayurvedic Medical College, Muktsar
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot
Babe Ke Ayurvedic Medical College, Moga
    Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar
    Desh Bhagat University, Gobindgarh
    Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital
    Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Punjab.

So, make a list of the top five and the find out details about what I've mentioned above. See their websites, student forums etc, so that when you actually sit at the counselling round, you have the information in hand for taking the college of your choice or have the next best two to three options in hand instead of becoming blank and making a wrong choice.
