You may not be asked Birth certificate for some government jobs if you have your 10th pass certificate in which your date of birth is mentioned. But for some jobs, it is being asked and for a passport, it is very essential. So you have to obtain the birth certificate through the concerned authorities.
Even your birth was not registered at your birth time, you need not worry. There is a procedure for that which is given below.

    PROCEDURE OF DELAYED BIRTH REGISTRATION
1, You have to apply for non-availability certificate of birth in the office of the birth and death registrar. You have to submit a copy of your SSC certificate as proof of your date of birth.
    2. You have to apply for the delayed birth registration order from District Magistrate or Sub Divisional Magistrate or any other first class Magistrate. For this, you have to contact the office of DM/SDM or court. the following documents are required.
    1-BIRTH REPORT
    2-NON AVAILABILITY CERTIFICATE
    3-AFFIDAVIT/SELF DECLARATION OF PARENTS
    4-AFFIDAVIT OF WITNESSES
    5-DOB PROOF
    6-ID/ADDRESS PROOF.
You can contact a good advocate in your area. He will help you in doing this work.

    3. Then you have to apply for birth registration in the office of birth and death registrar.
The documents required for this are
    1-DELAYED BIRTH REGISTRATION ORDER,
    2-DOB PROOF,
    3- ID/ADDRESS PROOF,
    4-BIRTH REPORT

    4. After successful registration, you can collect the birth certificate from the office of birth and death registrar. Alternatively, you can download the same from the Civil Registration System

What is corrector certificate? I think it is a character certificate. It is not very essential but if it is possible you can obtain and keep it with you.

  • Nowadays birth certificate is required as a valid document but most of the places the high school certificate is also accepted where generally date of birth is mentioned.

Some areas in our country people have horoscope also. It is also accepted as a proof for making a delayed birth certificate only thing is the date mentioned there should match with the date in your educational certificates and Aadhar card.

Another thing is if the date of birth in all of your documents is matching and is same then you can ask a birth certificate from the district administration through the formal procedural channel.

In many cases when all the other documents are in order and showing the same date of birth consistently, the document verifying authorities accept it.

    Knowledge is power.
